Cleaning Motorcycle - Triumph Bonneville !
How to
(Sep-2015)

(Motor)Bikers come in 4 types:
For first type of bikers, motorcycle is basically a mode of transport, so more of users than bikers. Second type of riders ride it because they like it, love it and adore riding. Road takes them, they don't really worry about routes and places. Third type of riders own the best motorcycle(s), they maintain it best, they show it off best, but do not ride that much ! Fourth type of riders not only ride but also visit places, they carefully choose routes, places and enjoy the experiences !!

Well, whichever type of biker you are, you surely want your Motorcycle shining day and night ! Giving it to service station is the best idea though, doing it yourself is quite a fun proud experience too !

Here are simple steps that I follow to clean my Triumph Bonneville (standard):

1) Assemble tools

Resqtech car washer 28L
Meguiar's G12619 NXT Generation Car Wash
Mother's fender wall brush
Mother's detail brush set
Meguiar's G7014J Gold Class Carnauba Plus Paste Wax (325 ml)
Meguiar's applicator pads
Meguiar's Natural shine protectant
Micro-fiber cloth
Zopasu duster
Tribocor Chain Cleaner Spray TC208
Tribocor Chain Lube Spray TC40

You could use alternate products.

2) Clean rear wheel chain with aerosol based chain cleaner

3) Mix about 30ml of Car wash in about 8 liters of water

4) Start cleaning part by part, use powerful water spray to clean sticky dirt, rub with brushes as needed, bigger fender brush for easier portions like tyres and smaller detail brush for difficult to reach portions. Use cycle of spray-rub-spray.

5) Repeat step 4 with plain water.

6) Do a light water spray and dry motorcycle with micro-fiber cloth.

7) Using applicator pads, apply Carnauba wax in *straight lines* part by part. Spray surface with a bit of water if you are using hard wax. Now using micro-fiber cloth, polish in *circular* motions. For non-metallic (or similar to car interior) surfaces, seat covers, you may use protectant.

8) Dust smoothly to give final touch.

9) Lubricate the chain.

10) After about 10 minutes of admiring your handiwork, give finishing touches if any, go for a shower, come back, proudly start your motorcycle, hear its happy beats for couple of minutes, then go for a small 3 km of test ride.
